DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM: 

The Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (C.R.A.S.E.) the course is designed and built on the Avoid, Deny, Defend strategy developed by the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT). Topics include the history and prevalence of active shooter events, the role of professional guardians, civilian response options, and demonstrates examples of things to do in case of an active shooter event.

 

DESCRIPTION OF INSTRUCTOR: 

Chief William Edwards has been in law enforcement for over 25 years. He has served Hutto ISD Police Department as the Chief of Police since 2017. William Edwards holds a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice and is a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy as well as the Law Enforcement Institute of Texas Leadership and Command College.
